Value chain transformation

How the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) at Coventry University is accelerating sustainability across industry value chains.

About the film

As consumers’ demand for sustainably sourced products increases, organisations need to ensure they are considering a whole systems approach to their value chain.

Driven by a need to understand what sustainability means within the flower industry, the Sustainable Cut-Flowers Project is a partnership between the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) at Coventry University and industry stakeholders, including global flower supplier, FleuraMetz.

The project addressed a disconnect between consumer knowledge of supply chains and certifications, resulting in access to the Fairtrade market for the flower industry, and improved communications with consumers and suppliers.

By using academic research and facilitating collaboration across industries, organisations can change behaviours, achieve their sustainability objectives, and have a lasting, positive impact on our world.
